BE A REAL SALAFEE!

Salafiyyah has no blemish because what it stands for is being upon Sunnah as practiced by the best generations of Muslims. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم himself is the first salaf for us like he told Fatimah رضي الله عنها in an authentic hadith. His Companions رضي الله عنهم and those who followed them are also salaf for us because they preceded us in eeman, ibaadah and good deeds. Salafiyah is simply, Islam according to the Sunnah and the way of the salaf saalih (righteous predecessors), and it has no flaw at all. If someone says salafiyyah has flaws, he is indirectly saying the Message of Muhammad has flaws (Allaah's aid is sought against statements of kufr). Q5: 3 shows that his message was parfectly revealed and delivered. Sticking to that message, without addition or subtraction is what salafiyyah stands for. That is the path Allaah سبحانه وتعالى ordered us to follow as clearly indicated in Q9:100. 

However, salafis (Muslims who submit to the path of the righteous predecessors) are not perfect; they only try their best to follow the salaf as enshrined in the Kitab wa Sunnah. They have shortcomings just like any other human beings. They are not Angels. The real people of Sunnah have gone. They are the Companions of the the Prophet. All we are try to do today is to follow their path to the best of our ability. We can never match their status till the end of ourlives. If this is what salafism is all about, it means we should strive to be one of the salafees (those who adhere to the way of the salaf) by all possible means in line with the hadith of the Rosul صلى الله عليه وسلم on the Firqotun Naajiyah (The Saved Sect). 

In the face of many deviations in the Islamic world today, one can't just say I am a Muslim and that will be all. No! He or she must be upon the kind of Islaam our salaf were upon. A shi'a would be cursing the

Companions, or labeling a wife of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم "a prostitute" and would claim to be Muslim. A Sufi would believe in wahdatul wujud (unity of creation) and claim to be a Muslim. The liste of examples is endless. Go and study the books of Jamaa'ah at Tableegh, you will find out many of their fundamental deviations. There are many ways and paths that look like Islaam in our present world, and they are not Islam. They are deviations and misguidance plaited with Islam. That is the promise of shaitan. He would make wrong Islam look alluring in order to mislead the ignorant people. This is the time the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said in one hadith that we should stick to his sunnah with our mollar teeth. This is the time people would wake up Muslims and become kafir before sun sets. This is the time people would sleep as Muslims, and would wake with kufr before the day break.

It should be noted that a lot of people today claim to be salafees and they are not salafees in the true sense of it. They are out to destroy salafiyyah within. The takfeerees who regard every bid'ah as kufr that takes people out of Islaam are not salafis. The khawaarij who believe innocent non-muslims can be killed without any offence or just cause are not salafees. They only deceive themselves and their blind followers.

The beliefs of salafees is based on the revealed texts (Qur'an and Sunnah). The real salafees would agree with you if your perception on a matter is based on the Qur'an, Sunnah and methodologies of the salaf as saalih. The real salafees would not condone any act of bid'ah because the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم had strong warned against it in all ramifications. The real salafees would not condone or joke with sins of kabaair nature, especially when it is being committed openly without shyness. They preach against shirk, bid'ah and every form of disobedience to Allaah and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم with wisdom and beautiful words. 

May Allah count us among the true followers of the salaf saalih.
