NEGLIGENCE OF SUNNAH LEADS TO HUMILIATION

When the heresies of the Sufis and several other innovations are being exposed, some people would come and say "don't condemn anybody" or something like, "don't judge anybody". Many people have failed to understand that it is not the personalities of the innovators that are being condemned. It is their innovations and misguidance as clearly explained by the scholars that are being exposed and decimated. And this is done with the sole intention of warning ignorant people and blind followers against their evils.

No one has the right to disgrace, humiliate, insult or denigrate a fellow human being because our general belief is that Allaah Himself سبحانه وتعالى honours human being (the brethren of Adam عليه السلام). Allaah says;

وَلَقَدْ كَرَّمْنَا بَنِي آدَمَ وَحَمَلْنَاهُمْ فِي الْبَرِّ وَالْبَحْرِ وَرَزَقْنَاهُمْ مِنَ الطَّيِّبَاتِ وَفَضَّلْنَاهُمْ عَلَىٰ كَثِيرٍ مِمَّنْ خَلَقْنَا تَفْضِيلً

And We have certainly honored the children of Adam and carried them on the land and sea and provided for them of the good things and preferred them over much of what We have created, with [definite] preference. [Surat Al-Isra' 70, Sahih International]

By this verse of the Qur'an; Allaah indeed honoured human beings and place them a very high status. But unfortunately, many of the Children of Adam have decided to dishonour themselves by disobeying Allaah and His Apostle صلى الله عليه وسلم. They disobey Allaah and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم by engaging in shameful acts of shirk, bidi'ah and jaraahim (grievous sins). It is clear that Allaah does not begin to remove His honour from any human being until he or she starts disobeying Him and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم.

If a highly place and well recognised individual passes by; he is honoured by the people by all possible means. But when such a person commits a shameful deed in public and he is to be arraigned before a court of law; what will happen to him? He would surely lose his honour in sight of the people.Therefore, by virtue of the above verse, every individual are hitherto honoured. But once a person has the audacity and arrogance to introduce or practise new matters in the religion of Allaah, then, humiliation is iminent upon him.  

The Muslim ummah would continue to be the best generation ever raised for mankind. But our negligence of the Sunnah and the way of salaf has continued to bring humiliation upon us. As we have all known, the Muslim ummah today is facing a lot of humiliation from the Kuffar all over the world. Until, we return back to the Sunnah, the humiliation will not be lifted. 

The kuffar who used to fear the Muslim ummah have seized and taken over our dear Masjidil Aqsah since and we are helpless. They killed and are still killing Muslims in Palestine without any justification. Many innocent Muslims are being killed in North-East Nigeria; Muslims are being killed in the Central African Republic like Chickens; go to Burma and see the plight of the minority Muslim population there in Rohinja. There are many instances of the violations of the rights of Muslims all over the world. Allaah says:

(كُنْتُمْ خَيْرَ أُمَّةٍ أُخْرِجَتْ لِلنَّاسِ تَأْمُرُونَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَوْنَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ)

You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong..[Surat Aal-E-Imran 110, Sahih International]

The reason why we are the best generation according to this verse is that we enjoin what is good and forbid what is bad for ourselves. If we must ask ourselves; do we still encourage goodness and forbid evils? The answer is no. What most Muslims of today do is to discourage goodness and promote evils. Even when some Muslims see few persons among the ummah who are trying to call towards righteousness and forbid evils, instead of joining hands with them; they will criticise them, condemn them and even accuse them of self purification. That is the unfortunate circumstance we have found ourselves. Almost all of the so called Islamic organizations are now channelled towards generating money for their founders. Anyone who think this ummah is in a good state presently need urgent brain test. Our problems are multi-facetted.

Indeed, Islam has become ghareeb (something strange). We have left our gold; we have left our Sunnah; we have left our manhaj and we are paying for it. These days, it is hard to distinguish between an Islamic society and a kufr society all over the world. The kuffar have succeeded in initiating us into many evils. In a Muslim dominated environment, it becomes very hard to find a single Muslim woman that dresses properly in line with the sunnah and we think the help of Allaah would come just like that. 

Music, movies and soccer centers flood the streets. Little or no attention is paid to Islamic upbringing of the Muslim children and we think Allah's help is for free? We join the kuffar to mix Islaam with democracy saying (its the same thing) and we think Allaah is pleased with that? We subject the shari'ah to our self-desires and our customs and traditions and think things will be well. Habba! Let us reason and put things in their proper perspectives and see if Allaah would come to our aid or not? His promises are certain; He doesn't fail. Allaah says in the Qur'an:

(وَعْدَ اللَّهِ ۖ لَا يُخْلِفُ اللَّهُ وَعْدَهُ وَلَٰكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ)

[It is] the promise of Allah . Allah does not fail in His promise, but most of the people do not know. [Surat Ar-Rum 6, Sahih International]

Therefore, we have to return back to the path that gave the earliest generations of the Muslim honour and victory, otherwise, we would be flying and landing on the same spot. Let us learn their 'aqeedah, their manhaj and practice Islaam the way they practiced it. Although there is no hope that we can meet up to their standard; but we must try our best to maintain minimum standard. 

While explaining the status of the Sunnah and the Jamaa'ah and the need for us to follow them strictly as Muslims, Sheikh Fawzan حفظه الله said:

تبين للناس أن أمر الدين كله في لزوم السنة والجماعة, فلن يخالف ما عليه أهل السنة والجماعة إلا أهل الضلال

"It is clear to mankinds that the entirety of the matter of the religion is predicated on abiding by the Sunnah and the Group of Muslims (the Companions). Then, no one opposes what the People of Sunnah and the Group of Muslim (Companions) is upon except the Misguided" [Sharh of Sharh us Sunnah, pg 29]
