BEWARE OF HEROE WORSHIP

By
Ibn Abdillah As-sudaisiy Al-Iloori

If you want to understand the statement of Allaah: يُحِبُّونَهُمْ كَحُبِّ اللَّه (they love them as they ought to love Allaah) [Q2:165] very well, just look at the Sufis regarding their shuyuukh and the politicians regarding their godfathers.

The Sufis, instead of placing their affairs in the Hand of Allaah, they place it in the hand of their shehus. They have unlimited obedience and respect for their shehus. They love them to the extent that when they (the shehus) order them to do what goes against the injunctions of Allaah and the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم, they would do it due to the excessive love. They believe their shehu will not order them to do anything without the permission of Allaah. They even believe that the shehus are pure to the extent that all the parts of their body has become that of Allaah. Subhanallaah! This is shirk on its own. That is how the shi'as believe their Imams are so pure to the extent of having the power to change and replace the laws of Allaah with whatever they like. This is shirk also. This (heroe worship) is one of the major ways by which many deviant people go out of Islaam.

On the other hand, some politicians are ready to sacrifice their faith to ensure the victory of their godfathers in an election. They don't care as long as they remain in power. And if their godfather loses in an election, they act and feel as if they have lost everything in life. Anyone can do or say anything against Allaah and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم, they don't care. But if you dare saying anything against their political leaders, you will see their read eyes. So, when we say democracy is another religion on its own by which people worship some political idols, that is just the truth.

برئت من الأصنام في الأرض كلها * * * وآمنت بالله الذي هوغالب

I free myself from all idols (heroes, philosophers, politicians, shehus) that are worshipped on the land in its entirety, and I believe in Allaah, the Conqueror.

May Allaah guide us aright.
