DESPERATION

Desperation in search of material world is dangerous. That is why we teach 'aqeedah first, then 'ibaadah, then akhlaaq, other things may then follow. If we follow this order of priority, it will be difficult for a Muslim to become desperate in search of worldly things. We seek the help of Allaah against the whisperings of Shaytaan and its agents. 

As we search for sustenanable means of livelihood, the Hereafter should still be our main objective. The bottom line and guiding principle will be the verse of the Qur'an.

(وَابْتَغِ فِيمَا آتَاكَ اللَّهُ الدَّارَ الْآخِرَةَ ۖ وَلَا تَنْسَ نَصِيبَكَ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا ۖ وَأَحْسِنْ كَمَا أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ إِلَيْكَ ۖ وَلَا تَبْغِ الْفَسَادَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ۖ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُفْسِدِينَ)

"But seek, through that which Allah has given you, the home of the Hereafter; and [yet], do not forget your share of the world. And do good as Allah has done good to you. And desire not corruption in the land. Indeed, Allah does not like corrupters." Q28:77

O Allāh, You are our Creator, our Nourisher, and our Sustainer. We bear witness that no One can be Compared to You. Please, do not make this empty world to be paramount in our dreams. Make the hereafter to be our priority in life. Do not make us to be among the chaser of the material world. Make us to be among the chasers of the hereafter (paradise).
