BE A RESPONSIBLE MAN

How do some men feel so comfortable sitting at Assemblies always, playing draft or watch those who play it, while their women are at the market struggling to make ends meet and provide food and some other necessities for their family? The woman would serve them food from unknown sources, they would eat it and even ask for more. Men who are like this also practise polygyny or attempt to practise it, obviously knowing that they lack the capacity. The ears are filled with ridiculous stories.

In the first place, are women supposed to dominate the market space despite the shar'iah order وقرن في بيوتكن ("stay in your homes")? This alone shows that we have a long way to go in the understanding and practice of Islām according to Sunnah.

We can always create jobs for ourselves. Allowing women to take full charge of home maintenance is a height of irresponsibility that is very common in our society. No doubt, women can create their own wealth through any halal means possible. Allāh grants wealth to whomever He wishes. Sometimes, a woman can even be richer than her husband through a means that is halal. She is the owner of her money. Scholars have said, even if a woman is a billionaire, a man should still perform his responsibilities imposed by the shar'iah. A woman can only assist her husband. Placing on women burdens that Allāh did not place on them is dangerous and destructive.
