DO NOT INNOVATE!

Scholars of Sunnah since very long time ago agree that anyone who dies while revolting against a leader has died a death of jahiliyyah (ignorance) even if the leader is an unjust leader. This is why we should all learn the Sunnah. Don't allow  emotion to precede knowledge in any of your action. Don't think that you know when you are ignorant. Don't ruin yourself with ignorance and destructive emotion. 

Islām is built upon knowledge before practice. Even if you are yet to understand the rationale for some sharī'ah legislations, don't dispute it, don't attack it, don't nurse any hatred for it because this can lead you towards kufr. Don't say what is the meaning of this? Don't ask why? Just obey first, do not innovate. Later, you will know the truth and the truth will set you free. 

Allāh says:

إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ لَا یَسۡتَحۡیِۦۤ أَن یَضۡرِبَ مَثَلࣰا مَّا بَعُوضَةࣰ فَمَا فَوۡقَهَاۚ فَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِینَ ءَامَنُوا۟ فَیَعۡلَمُونَ أَنَّهُ ٱلۡحَقُّ مِن رَّبِّهِمۡۖ وَأَمَّا ٱلَّذِینَ كَفَرُوا۟ فَیَقُولُونَ مَاذَاۤ أَرَادَ ٱللَّهُ بِهَـٰذَا مَثَلࣰاۘ یُضِلُّ بِهِۦ كَثِیرࣰا وَیَهۡدِی بِهِۦ كَثِیرࣰاۚ وَمَا یُضِلُّ بِهِۦۤ إِلَّا ٱلۡفَـٰسِقِینَ

Surely Allah does not shy away from using the parable of a mosquito or what is even smaller. As for the believers, they know that it is the truth from their Lord. And as for the disbelievers, they argue, “What does Allah mean by such a parable?” Through this ˹test˺, He leaves many to stray, and guides many. And He leaves none to stray except the rebellious [Surah Al-Baqarah 26]

Yesterday, during our weekly tafseer, Hon Justice Abdurraheem Ahmad Sayi حفظه الله explained this verse. Allāh can use anything He likes as examples. He can make any rule as He seems fit because He is our Creator and Originator. He owns the Intellectual Property (IP) on us. At first, you may not be able to comprehend the purpose of some legislation until practical examples stares you on the face. You may not understand until you seek more knowledge.
