VALUE OF TAOHEED

The best of preachers was the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم and all preachers after him are bound to follow him in da'wah methodology and prioritization. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم preached taoheed alone, warning against shirk and bid'ah for good 13 years. And for the rest of his life, he never stopped preaching against shirk and bid'ah because he knew the danger it portends to the believers. He used to warn against shirk and bid'ah in all his sermons because shirk and bid'ah are the most dangerous tools of shaitan. They appear in many different ways that if care is not taken, people can be misled easily. 

No one should feel safe from these evils - we must continue to warn against them. Our salaf among the Companions رضي الله عنهم and the Taabi'een رحمهم الله used to warn against shirk and bid'ah in all their sermons. Even when they discuss "ablution", they warn against bid'ah and shirk that are likely to infiltrate it.

In our present day, shirk and bid'ah appear in different forms and all preachers must take their precious time to expose those areas so that people would not fall into them. The people of knowledge have written many books on how to guard our Islām from being pollutted by shirk and bid'ah. 

Do yourself a favour, may Allāh bless you. Sit with the people of knowledge and learn some of these books to protect yourself against shirk and bid'ah. Be careful of preachers who do not warn against shirk and bid'ah time from time. Fee from them, otherwise, they can mix the truth with falsehood for you.
