It is not wise to go into a war that is deliberately provoked just to occupy Arabian lands and take over the abundant resources of the region. I completely agree with the analysis of Nigeria's former Minister of External Affairs, Prof. Bolaji Akinyemi this morning on Trust TV that the situation is just like Muhammad Ali slapping him and him being put in the ring to fight him. It will be understandably devastating.

What is happening right now in the middle east is modern colonialism disguised as war against terrorism or radicalism. It looks like a mission to wipe off the Palestinians from the world map. The US is only using Israel to penetrate the middle east with provocation of violence just as the West is using Ukraine to settle scores with Russia. There is a confirmed report that in history, the US had bombed 12 Muslim majority countries all over the world and the 1-5 on the list are Arabian countries.

In Islam, the first of the maqasidus sharī'ah (objectives of Islamic law) is preservation of life (hifzhu nafs). This is a fundamental principle as far as the sharī'ah is concerned. Perhaps, some of the groups claiming to be fighting for the liberation of Palestine do not understand the priority to preserve lives and peaceful co-existence till it will be ripe to fight. The 'aqeedah of some of these groups are questionable in the first place. Some don't even have respect for the Sunnah and think that the path of the predecessors is outdated. They are not ready to toe the path of the righteous predecessors in addressing the problem at hand. In most cases, they are responsible for some of these catastrophic incidences and Allāh knows best. They are usually frustrated to play into the hands of enemies. And at the end of the day, innocent people in Palestine and Lebanon have been the ones facing the consequences.

In a couple of days, it will be a year since Israel began its unilateral war against innocent people in Palestine killing unarmed people such as civilians, refugees, women, children and UN aid givers. This is clear to even a blind eye. Their only justification for the atrocities till today is that their citizens were attacked and abducted at a party by Hamas. Why not then go after Hamas and spare innocent lives? The truth is that they only hide under this to commit the greatest war crimes in recent times and continue their unjust occupation of the Palestinian lands. They have now shifted to Lebanon. How is the party attack and abductions compared to the kind of havoc they had brought upon Palestine with the aid of the US and its allies in the last one year? It is sad that the blood of Muslims is the cheapest in the world today.

After Iran had fired several missiles into Israel and in the face of likely retaliations, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi addressed the UN and confessed that the situation at hand is not only dangerous for the middle east region, the whole world will be affected. This means that Iran is aware of the probable consequences of the further escalation of the crisis. The matter on ground is beyond competition on nuclear power. We know Iran and Israel backed by the US both have rich arsenals. The priority should be to prevent more loss of lives and property. We cannot afford to witness more wars. All parties involved should calm down and embrace peace.

Even from a jihad perspective, it is dangerous to fight until it is ripe to fight. I fear that it is deceitful to think it is ripe for Iran to face Israel at this point in time. Sometimes, refraining from going into a speculative war is not cowardice. It is a matter of weighing the options. Saddam Hussein then threatened that the US would end in a "disgraceful failure" if it attacked Iraq then, but what later happened? He also had allies in non western countries, were they able to save him? Till today, Iraq is not what it used to be. What of Muhammar Ghadhafi's Libya? Russian and China are able to keep Bashir Al-Assad in power in Syrian, but at the expense of a nearly total destruction of his country. These people later regretted their devilish missions in Iraq and Afghanistan but did this bring back the lost lives? This is how they are plotting to destroy Iran and apologize later.

Though Russia, China and South Korea have pledged their support to Iran, it is dangerous to trust or rely on the Kuffar in the fight against Kuffar. Their common enemy is Islām (and Muslims). For instance, the hatred of China for Islām and Muslims is clear in the kind of genocide they committed against Rohingya people who are Muslims. Allāh says:

And those who disbelieved are allies of one another. (QS. Al-Anfaal: Verse 73)

The fight for the liberation of Palestine is a collective one upon the Ummah, but we must seek victory through the path that gave the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم victory in the first place and not through divisions in the Deen and emotion. And this is unity and uniformity in 'aqeedah, adherence to the Sunnah, shunning evils (such as bid'ah, blind imitation of the Kuffar in many ways)،,sincerity in the worship of Allāh and reliance on Him. Allāh says:

Say, Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us; He is our protector. And upon Allah let the believers rely.(QS. At-Tawba: Verse 51)

In a Hadith, Ibn 'Umar رضي الله عنه narrated that he heard the Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم saying:

إِذَا تَبَايَعْتُمْ بِالْعِينَةِ, وَأَخَذْتُمْ أَذْنَابَ اَلْبَقَرِ, وَرَضِيتُمْ بِالزَّرْعِ, وَتَرَكْتُمْ اَلْجِهَادَ, سَلَّطَ اَللَّهُ عَلَيْكُمْ ذُلًّا لَا يَنْزِعُهُ حَتَّى تَرْجِعُوا إِلَى دِينِكُمْ

If you sell anything on credit to anyone, on the condition that you will buy it back for a lower price (al-'Einah), take hold of the tails of cattle, become pleased with agriculture and give up Jihad - Allah will make disgrace prevail over you and will not remove it from you till you return to your religion." [Abu Dawud‏, 3462]

The Muslim Ummah is divided in many regards. Some Muslims powers are even supporting oppressors underground for reasons best known to them. Regarding the recovery of Baytul Maqdis, victory is written in our favor but it will be difficult to attain it against the disbelievers and hypocrites harming us from within until we return to the foundation of our faith, and we must be patient. We must not be in a haste. Hastiness and not listening to scholars with knowledge, wisdom and foresight has landed us in more dangerous consequences. We must put into consideration that these people do not care about the lives of civilians. They are killing everything killable and violating all the UN charters that they are signatories to. Had it been the parties would both focus on each other's armies and ammunition, it would have been better.

Long ago, Sheikh Muhammad Saalih Ibn Al-Uthaymeen رحمه الله gave a golden advice to the Ummah regarding Palestine. He said the struggle to regain the third most sacred place in Islam should not be viewed with ethnic or mere political  lenses. It is a religious struggle and Islamic guidelines on it must be strictly followed. https://youtu.be/BMFvMi3OUwU?si=9mgoKALLujZ96hKB

We have great lessons to learn from the Sunnah of the beloved Messenger Before the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم started fighting, he got perfect signals from Allāh and victory was assured. We need to straighten ourselves first the way the early Muslim did. The wars they won were not all about their weapons. Their victories were miraculous. Allāh says:

O you who have believed, remember the favor of Allah upon you when armies came to [attack] you and We sent upon them a wind and armies [of angels] you did not see. And ever is Allah, of what you do, Seeing. (QS. Al-Ahzaab: Verse 9)

Even after winning several wars, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم attempted to enter Makkah without success. He could have entered forcefully but he prioritized the need to prevent casualties. He was patient because he didn't want the blood of the Muslims to be shed. He later entered it peacefully. This shows that religion is not by emotions.

  1. This piece of writeup would be different if Assudaisiy was born in a refugee camp in Palestine. His writeup is beautiful but needs to be realistic.

  2. Ustadh, you are right on so many fronts but living and witnessing oppression one will surely react at some point. One of the major problems is the enemy within. They act like they are aiding the Palestinian course yet they aid the oppressors from within. The Prophet was with the Muslims to preach calm and assure them of victory despite the constant persecution by the kuffar but today those that preach diplomacy amongst the Arab only care about their hold on power and themselves alone. I know Hamas can't be absolved of blame but been confined to an open air prison for decades will provoke reactions and this is what is happening. May Almighty Allah forgive our sins and aid the Ummah
