I have been working on a book since 2022. The book is meant to complement Halāl Intimacy that I wrote and published in 2020. It is a book emanating from the various discussions we had on Halāl Intimacy in the Mawaddah Platforms as well as my direct interactions with couples facing some sexual related challenges in their relationships.
Apart from the foundational topics, the book contains three (3) other parts, namely:
1. Contemporary issues on marital intimacy
2. Preventing the problem of sexual incompatibility and how couples already facing it can tackle it.
3. Seductive tips for a sustainable marital intimacy
Apart from these major areas, the book deals with sharī'ah rulings on several matters relating to intimacy, seduction, love, romance, virginity, self-stimulation, sextoy, dressing, hygiene, fragrance, jewelry; hair-care, piercing, creative expressions etc.
The title of the book is "Garment of Compassion". The word "garment" is drawn from Qur'ān 2: Verse 187 where Allāh said "they are garment for you and you are a garment for them", while the word "compassion" is picked from Qur'ān 30: Verse 21 where Allāh mentioned "rahmah" (compassion) as one of the main purposes of marriage. The combination of these words means that intimacy should be approached by couples with compassion.
The book is dedicated to Mawaddah Couples - starting from couples that I had counselled on premarital bases, those that have gone through dispute resolutions with me, those that I had met through post marital counseling and all members of Mawaddah Married and Singles platforms on social media.
The cover is designed by my brother and friend, Yūnus Olukodo
As usual, in the process of putting this book together, I consulted with some scholars and students of knowledge, especially those in the academic arena not just because of the sensitive nature of the content of the book, but to ensure that what I have written is worthy of publication. The book is reviewed by our father Prof. Abdulwahhab Muhammad Jamiu Elesin (H.O.D, Islamic Law, Faculty of Law, KWASU) and the Foreword was written by Sheikh Wael Ibrahim (Perth, Australia)
May Allāh accept the work as an act of ibādah and reward everyone who has played one role or the other in the course of the project.
In sha Allāh, I will be sharing some of the reviews from honoured brothers and sisters about the book subsequently.
Your prayers and support will be highly appreciated.
