Siddiqah Foundation is one of the best and one of the most beneficial initiatives I have ever worked with. It was founded in Lagos by our sister, Aishah Adams. Her passion to see that the poor live a good life is unexplainable. She would stress herself to make sure that people who need help get it. She believes that everyone deserves to eat, at least. She is one of those through whom a lot of people have benefitted without even knowing her. May Allāh reward her with goodness in this world and the hereafter. 

In the past few years, Siddiqah Foundation spreads its tentacles across all the geo-politcial zones covering almost all the states in Nigeria. Some neighboring African countries have also benefited immensely through this initiative. 

Alhamdulillah, I have been its coordinator in Kwara State for more than 5 years and we have achieved a lot. In Kwara State alone, we have assisted over 300 women among whom are widows, divorcees and the less privileged with cash grants to start up businesses..We have executed 5 borehole projects through Waqf (Islamic Endowment). During the months of Ramadan, we prepare iftar for the poor within the Ilorin metropolis. We also slaughter and share food to the poor, orphans and inmates at the correctional centers during the Eid festivals. May Allāh reward everyone who has supported this foundation in the past and make it easy for us to continue these projects.

Meanwhile, on 23rd August 2025 in Sha Allāh, Siddiqah Foundation will be holding its first ever Street Kitchen in Ilorin. This wonderful project had taken place in several other parts of the country including Lagos and Kano in the past. We look forward to your support for this project as we plan to feed as many people as possible on the streets of Ilorin, targeting some specific areas that would be announced later in sha Allāh. We need both financial and physical support. We are looking forward to collaborate with both public and private organizations, the media, philanthropists and individual volunteers. We are looking forward to both cash and food stuff donations.

What we seek to promote is the culture of feeding the poor and needy. We need to normalize it not just in the months of Ramadan but beyond it. Allāh says:

وَيُطْعِمُوْنَ الطَّعَا مَ عَلٰى حُبِّهٖ مِسْكِيْنًا وَّيَتِيْمًا وَّاَسِيْرًا

And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive, (QS. Al-Insaan: Verse 8)

Regarding those who have and refuse to feed the poor, Allāh says:

مَا سَلَـكَـكُمْ فِيْ سَقَرَ, قَا لُوْا لَمْ نَكُ مِنَ الْمُصَلِّيْنَ ,وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكِيْنَ

[And asking them], What put you into Saqar?"They will say, We were not of those who prayed,", "Nor did we used to feed the poor.(QS. Al-Muddaththir: Verse 42- 44)
