HASAD (ENVY)

Hasad (envy) is when someone hates you so much that he or she doesn't want the blessings of Allah with you to last long or that the goodness you are seeking for never gets to you. The funniest aspect of it is that such a person may not have the opportunity of converting the goodness to his or her own advantage; he or she doesn't just want you to get it. He or she prefers that the goodness goes to someone else than for it to reach you. For instance, such a person may be in the best position to help or assist you and would not bother to assist. He or she would prefer to help a distant person than to help you who is very close to him or her.

As a Muslim, you have to buckle your belt very tight and increase your level of sunnatic adkhaar. It looks somehow when one finds out some Muslims do not have Hisnul Muslim, (Citadel of the Believer), Ruqyah pamphlets or any of their kinds. Apart from yourself,your parents and those who really understand the spirit of Islamic brotherhood by loving you for Allah's sake, who else really wants goodness for you deep down their heart? In an hadith reported by Ibn ‘Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: 

“The evil eye is real and if anything were to overtake the divine decree, it would be the evil eye. When you are asked to take a bath (to provide a cure) from the influence of the evil eye, you should take a bath.” [Narrated by Muslim, Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi]

In another hadith, Asma bint ‘Umays said: “O Messenger of Allah, the children of Ja’afar have been afflicted by the evil eye, shall we recite ruqyah for them?” He said, 

“Yes, for if anything were to overtake the divine decree it would be the evil eye.” [Narrated by Imam Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi]

So, the evil-eye is real. As you rejoice on the favour of Allah upon you, some people are not happy with it and this can harm you if you are not very strong spiritually and sunnatically. In fact, these kind of people do not even need to do anything. Their evil eyes alone is capable of causing troubles. May Allah protect us against the evils of those who envy us with bad heart and draw us close to His rahmah in this world and the hereafter.
