PREACHERS ARE NOT PERFECT

Some people think by virtue being a preacher, then you will automatically be a saint and extraordinarily steadfast. It is not always so. We are preaching because it is a must to command good and forbid evils. May Allāh make it easy for us to always practise what we preach. We all have our shortcomings and weak points. We must continue to aspire to get better and improve our relationship with Allāh.

Most preachers, if not all, are just like sick doctors who still find time to treat their patients. Their sickness doesn't prevent them from taking care of other people. May Allāh reward them.

It is just as a scholar put it in a poem:

وغير تقي يأمر الناس بالتقى

          طبيب يداوي الناس وهو سقيم                  

The one who has not attained piety is enjoining people to be pious. A doctor is treating patients while he is also sick.
