THEIR CONCERNS ABOUT THE AHLU SUNNAH

People don't ordinarily love the truth. Ever before the leader of mankind صلى الله عليه وسلم was raised as a Prophet and Messenger, his personality among the Quraysh was widely known to be excellent. They trusted him more than any other person. But when he began to preach Islaam (his Sunnah), the tune changed. They started calling him unprintable names. It is the same problem we have today. Someone would be known for his good behaviour and wonderful character among his people. But once the same person becomes an adherent of the Sunnah in the practice of his Islaam, they change the tune. He is this, he is that. If you now find out very well what they really have against him, it would not go without these two things:

1. He is disrespectful (meaning, he doesn't bend down, kneel down, bow down, or prostrate to greet anymore)

And

2. He is against many of the ways of our forefathers in their practice of Islaam (meaning he condemns sihr, bid'ah and blind following of the customs and traditions of our forefathers in the practice of Islaam).

Whereas, Islaam is based on evidence. Evidence from the Qur'an, Sunnah and the ways of the Companions رضي الله عنهم. The People of Sunnah don't act without knowledge. They do not follow their desires and the desire of their forefathers. They strive to follow the Qur'an and Sunnah in all their dealings. Whatever they do, they have proof for it. The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم called to Islaam with insight and not with his own whims and caprices. That is what the People of Sunnah strive to do. They call to Allaah and His Messenger صلى الله عليه وسلم alone and not to any individual organization. They call to the divine texts (Qur'an and Sunnah) and they do not mind the insults of insulters or oppression of oppressors in this great task. Allaah says to His Messenger

Say, "This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me". [Surat Yusuf: 108, Sahih International]

May Allah grant us better understanding of Islaam and remove ignorance, arrogance, and desire from us to be able to practise it appropriately.
