Sometimes, when one think about what women go through in making sure the family is in good shape, one will not stop praying for them. They go through a lot in life just to make their home to be very comfortable. Even when she is sick, tired or pregnant, she still tries to perform her roles in the home to a great extent. It is the husband (a good type) that will be telling her: "its okay, you need to rest small my dear". "Let me help you". Not all women are like this. If you are one of these kind of women, you are blessed. And if you have these kind of women as a wife, be grateful to Allaah.

However, most women don't know that those efforts of theirs are enough to get close to Allaah in many ways. Those good deeds are potent means of tawassul (seeking the help and assistance of Allaah). You can say: O Allaah, I did this and that for my family for Your sake and seeking Your Pleasure alone, do this and that for me, He would do it. But when you do acts of goodness towards your household with anger, or reluctantly or frowning or for one worldly thing or the other in return, you may not have any reward for them. 

My dear sister, try to always purify your intention and expect rewards from Allaah for the services you render in the family. Whatever help or assistance you render in the family, do it with pure heart. Do good with pleasure and smiles on your face. Don't allow shaytaan to hijack your good deeds by tainting it with negative intentions and bad feelings. In a hadith reported by Jabir رضي الله عنه, the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said

"كل معروف صدقة"

"Every act of goodness is charity" (Bukhari and Muslim)

So, do all acts of goodness as a form of charity for the sake of Allaah alone. Whether your man appreciate those efforts as he is supposed to or not, your rewards would not be lost. They would be useful for you on the Day money would be useless. May Allaah make our women symbols of joy for us, brighten their faces, forgive their weaknesses and reward their acts of goodness abundantly.
